Founded in 2017 by Jonathan Luu, South Bay ECC Raters was built on a foundation of hands-on technical expertise. Jonathan began his career as an HVAC installer journeyman, working within his family business to master the complexities of HVAC systems and ductwork design.
With years of experience "behind the walls," Jonathan transitioned into the role of a licensed HERS/ECC Rater to help homeowners and contractors meet California’s rigorous energy standards. Originally established as South Bay HERS Rating, the company evolved in 2026 to become South Bay ECC Raters. This change was a direct response to the California Energy Department’s 2025 Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6) updates, reflecting our commitment to staying at the forefront of Energy Code Compliance (ECC).
Today, we leverage our deep roots in the HVAC trade to provide expert HERS/ECC testing. We don’t just check boxes; we understand the mechanics of your system, ensuring your project is efficient, compliant, and built to last.
