What is the ECC Program and Why Does it Matter?
The Energy Code Compliance (ECC) Program, previously called the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Program is part of California's statewide effort to improve energy efficiency in homes. Managed by the California Energy Commission (CEC), the program ensures new construction and home upgrades comply with the state's Building Energy Efficiency Standards, known as Title 24. Meeting these standards helps reduce energy use, lower utility bills, and protect the environment.
